Now that your child is growing up, you might be looking for a way to stay connected with what’s happening in his/her school. The Parent Faculty Club here at D.I.S. is a terrific way to do just that. Membership is inexpensive, just ten dollars a year; and attendance is easy, the first Tuesday of each month from 6:00pm to approximately 7:00pm. You can come to as many or as few meetings as you want, but they are a simple and friendly way to get to know your school’s administrators and staff, provide your input, or just stay informed about what’s happening in your child’s school.
The PFC at DIS is responsible for allocating support as requested by the staff. We provide all the snacks for school dances, have paid for after-school tutoring programs, and have purchased books from the book fair for kids who otherwise could not afford them. These are but a few of the wonderful things we’ve been able to do in past years with the money we receive from our yearly fundraising. I can’t wait to see what we’ll be able to accomplish this year! Please join us and be a part of this resource for you and your child’s education. The early teenage years only last for a few short years, but the impact they make lasts a lifetime.
